NEW ZEALAND ELK
Among the largest of the deer species, the magnificent Elk, known locally as Wapiti, were introduced in to New Zealand in 1905. Closely related to Red Deer, the Elk rut in March and April and can be hunted from the middle of February until August. Each season we take some huge Elk from the Rangitata Valley with many Bulls exceeding 400 SCI by rifle and bow.
